Summit² Challenge Information

Half Marathon - Summit² Challenge! Participants must maintain at least a 16:00 minute per mile pace to make the course deadline of 10:30 am. This event will have 400 maximum participants! You must be 13 years old to compete without an accompanying, participating adult.The route is the normal Spa 10K until the top of West Mountain, turn right at the Summit - go to top of the Summit, come back down Summit and West Mountain to Pecan Street, left on Flint, left on Quapaw, left on Fern, right on Pecan, travel back up West Mountain to the top of the Summit, back down Mountain and follow 10K route to finish. All participants will receive a finishing medal!

SPA 10K Information

The Spa 10K is part of the Arkansas RRCA Grand Prix Series and the course is USATF Certificate Code, #AR16025DP.The Race starts on Convention Blvd and takes you through beautiful downtown Hot Springs with its majestic bathhouse row complete with the spas and rich history. Next, the route takes you over West Mountain for 2 miles where the winding road meanders through mixed hardwoods. Down the other side, you are met with the eclectic homes of the Quapaw Historic District and then finish back on Convention Blvd.

5k Run Information

The 5K route starts on Convention Boulevard, travels through the heart of downtown on Central Avenue to Whittington Park, and returns via Central Avenue to the finish line.

5k Walk Information

We welcome all walkers to be a part of the 5K Race! Remember, if you register as a walker, you must walk the entire race. The 5K route starts on Convention Boulevard, travels through the heart of downtown on Central Avenue to Whittington Park, and returns via Central Ave. to the finish line.

SPA Squirt Information

The Squirt Race is for kids 2-10 years of age with the following age categories: 2-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10.Each age group will start on Convention Blvd.(across from Embassy Suites in the lane next to the big parking lot) and run towards East Grand. Parents are allowed to run/walk with the younger kids.All kids will receive a finishing medal.

PACE FOR THE RACE - Training Clinic

Arkansas Blue Cross "BCBS" is partnering with the Spa Running Festival to include a Healthy Living initiative. The Training Program is optional, but if you meet the challenge of earning 100 points through various challenges, you will receive a BCBS In-Training Shirt!

The XC² 5K - Cross City Championship

A 5k distance road race to allow junior and senior high school students to compete on a state level against other athletes from high schools around the state. Your $20 entry fee will provide you a chip-timed race on a fast and flat, traffic-controlled course, along with a short sleeve event shirt and other amenities associated with the Spa Running Festival.

The school running club that wins the event (scored like cross-country, Top 5 with 2 displacers) will receive a trophy and bragging rights as the "Fastest Team on Pavement". Students must be 12-19 years old to be eligible for entry in the event as a member of a school's running club.

Pace for the Race Training Clinic

As part of the Spa Pacers' Pace For the Race Training Clinic, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield "BCBS" is partnering with the Spa Running Festival to include a training program for the Healthy Living initiative to help INSURE clinic participants can reach the finish line on November 18, 2017 and to promote a happy and healthy lifestyle.

The training program is an optional feature, but if you meet the challenge of earning 100 points through various healthy initiatives, you will receive a great BCBS Training Program In-Training Shirt!

The Pace for the Race clinic meets every Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 5:45 pm at the Transportation Depot. Team leaders will help train you in your goal to complete the race distance of your choice (5k, 10k, or Half Marathon). In addition, there will be informational sessions on safety, nutrition, exercising, injury prevention, proper gear selection, and most importantly, running! Ultimately, the goal during the free 10-week training clinic is to prepare all participants to reach the finish line at the Spa Running Festival on November 18. The Clinic categories you can participate in are: Half Marathon Runners, 10K Beginners, 10K Intermediate, 5K Beginners, 5K Intermediate, 5K Walkers Beginners and 5K Walkers Intermediate.

REGISTRATION PRICE INCREASES BY $5.00 AT MIDNIGHT 11/11/2017

ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL BE $40 FOR 5K, $45 FOR 10K AND $60 FOR THE HALF

The Spa Running Festival is an event that has a race for everyone including kids, walkers, beginners to elite runners and those that like a challenge! The Spa 10K continues to be our featured race as part of the Grand Prix Racing Series. The 5K is for both walkers and runners! The Squirt Race is for kids 2 - 10 years of age and is always so much fun to watch! This year, we are very pleased to again offer a Half Marathon course. If you liked the challenge of the Spa 10K running over West Mountain, then you are going to really like the Half Marathon because you get to run West Mountain and to the top of the Summit twice - hence the name Summit² Challenge! Are You Up To The Challenge? The maximum number of participants for the Half Marathon is 400. Don't think to long or you may miss out.  The Spa 10k is a nationally recognized event as featured in Runner's World Magazine Races & Places, November 2015 edition.
